An old Cherokee is telling his grandson about a fight that is going on inside himself. He said it is between wolves.

"One is evil: anger, envy, sorrow, regrets, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride and ego.

The other is good: joy, peace, love, hope, serentity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a moment and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one I feed."

Good story. Sometimes the "bad" things, like anger, help us survive -- in appropriate doses of course!

Ooo--such a great quote (going to have to share that with my son as he grows up)!

This is true in so many ways! It makes me think of Joseph Marshall's book "Keep Going", about his Grandfather's philosophy on perserverence. Beautiful...if I ever get around to that quote journal/scrapbook I want to do, that'll be perfect for it! Thank you :)
