"Peace : A monotonous interval between fights."
The Roycroft Dictionary
"Concocted by Ali Baba and the Bunch on Rainy Days.
Done into a printed book by the Roycrofters at their shop for the divertisement of the Gloomsters MCMXIV"
Copyright 1914
This quote came from a small antique book in the Jeffrey Gitomer Library collection. It has been so interesting to be able to read through so many old, and new, books this past week. Thank you Jeffrey.
Monotonous is not the word I would use to define Peace. If you could read more of the definitions in this small, antique, Dictionary you could see the sarcasm and humor used to define words for "divertisement" which means "for amusement and recreation."

Cool! Love old books...(One of my personal favorites is Poems in Praise of Practically Nothing. Also, I get a kick out of the books on manners).
