"Peace like a river"

"I will make her peace like a river,
and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream,
and she will take her children in her arms,
gently caring for them on her knees."

Isaiah 66:12

It has not been peaceful on the Columbia River the last few days. As you can see by the photo, the Windsurfers love the windy conditions. Al and my brother, Ken, tried to boat down the Columbia River August 7. This photo shows the condition of the river with the waves so high and so close together that it was impossible for them to complete their goal of reaching Astoria sometime this week. They will try again sometime in the future when the weather conditons are better. I am thankful that they are safe after boating in such rough waters and windy weather conditions.
