I am thankful that there was at least one bloom on our Clematis vine. This flowering vine is usually full of blooms. Our constant travel has kept us from taking care of this beautiful plant. I was amazed to see this one bloom on what looked like twisted sticks of vines braced up by a wooden fence. Plants need someone to care about and defend them against the forces of nature, just as our civilization needs to care about and protect our freedom and peace.
