Fisherman's Prayer

"I pray that I may live to fish
Until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast,
I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord's great landing net
And peacefully asleep
That in His mercy I be judged
Big enough to keep."

Poem sent to Al, in an email from daughter-in-law, Liz, in September 2005. I am thankful that Al and I have had the opportunities to enjoy all the outdoor activities of fishing, crabbing, clamming, hiking and mushroom hunting that are available here on the Oregon Coast....and share those activities with our Grandson, Simon, other family members and friends.

Good morning, Pati. I just read your daughter's blog, and as I commented to her, you guys are just making me want to live in Oregon more and more! : )

I LOVE it! We are a fishing family and the quote is one I'm definitely going to have to share with my little brother! Also, the photo is great!
