Songs bring moments of peace.

“The purest of songs

brings you the

purest of joy and

moments of peace,

if only for the infinite

three to five minutes

while they last.”

What is your favorite song that gives you
"the purest of joy and moments of peace?"

When I was young, I saw a film about John Muir. I was so impessed by him and his life (he wrote about the mountains where I lived) and found the movie so beautiful (and peaceful). The musical score for the film was Pachelbel's Canon in D. I've loved that song ever since and have a strong memory of peace associated to it. (That's why I was so grateful for your recommendation of it for relaxation -- thanks again, Pati!)

I second Liz's answer! I'm listening to a lot of R.Carlos Nakkai while I practice yoga...his music just carries me along in my routine...it brings a real sense of contentment and unity to me.

Thank you so much for your blog - I really appreciate the daily peaceful thoughts and gratitude that you share with us all.
Cheers, Katie
