"Peace by thine"
"God looked around His garden
and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth
and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
and lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He saw the road was getting rough
and the hills were hard to climb,
so He closed your weary eyelids
and whispered “Peace be thine”.
It broke our hearts to lose you
but you didn't go alone,
for part of us went with you
the day God called you home."

Today is the funeral of my beautiful Mother. All our family members are here to honor, memoralize and celebrate her life. This photo of Mom flying a kite reminds me of the fun loving woman she was. She loved to fly kites, watch them fly and teach her children and grandchildren how to fly a kite.
There are many suggestions of the symboizim of kites including: freedom, peace, springtime, Hope and Joy. The list goes on and on as people suggest their own ideas and suggestions for what flying a kite means to them. As I look at this photo today, and think about the symbolizm of a kite soaring in the sky, I pray that my Mother is having fun, is at peace and enjoying her new life, free from the bonds of Alzheimers and health problems she was experiencing in this life. Peace be with you my dear Mother. Thank you for all the wonderful years of love, learning and friendship.

The kite is a powerful symbol.
My condolences.

Your mother sounds like she was amazing. What a great post and photo! Such a tribute to her. HUGS to you, Pati, as you celebrate your mom's life with family. I'll be thinking of you.
My prayers are with you and your family today, Pati.
Love this photo of your mom flying a kite. It is something that I love to do as well every summer on the beach in Door County, Wisconsin. I'm sure I will think of her as our kites are soaring this year.
Peace,
~jane
My thoughts and with you Pati, are with you here in Israel.

Peace also to you as you enter this new phase of life.
Pati, this is such a beautiful post about your mother, and the photo is perfect. With as much love as you clearly feel for her, it is definite that she is happy and at peace today.
