Praying for Peace
"As the sea
With each
Embracing wave
Removes the rock
Over time
Little by little,
So too can
Prayer remove
The anger
Restoring the soul
To the peace
Of a quiet pool."
K.S. Hardy
The rock in the photo is an example of what the sea waves can accomplish with their relentless surges over what you would think would not be able to be penetrated. We see rocks like this all over the beaches of Oregon.
The idea of prayer having the ability to remove anger, like the ocean can remove rock, make holes and even shape rocks, is a blessing. We can be blessed with the ability to return to the peace of the soul, like a quiet pool. I love this image of peacefulness.

Thank you for sharing this powerful picture. It is a quiet and awesome reminder.
I love this entry--the photo, the idea, the intention. I just returned from a short trip down along the Oregon coast where I saw much of the same rocks you describe, and at the time I wasn't able to express my feelings until reading this post. And also, I now want to move to the Oregon coast, so beautiful!
Pati,
All too often in life I am like the rock; the trials of this life leave huge holes in my armour. It is then that I must call on the giver of peace!
Thanks for your story.
