Day One - Kauai sunrise or should I say lack of sunrise. The cloud cover will be continuing all day. We just flew to Kauai from snowy Seattle last night, arriving at Kauai around 10:00 PM. We didn't know if we were going to be able to depart from Seattle. Most of the departure schedules were cancelled due to the snow and ice conditions of Seattle and the whole Pacific Northwest. We were blessed with being able to leave Seattle. Many of the guest here at Mokihana are loosing their vacation days as they attempt to reschedule their airline tickets.
The weather forcast for Kauai is expected to be windy, cloudy and showers for the next five days. The temperature difference is about 50 degrees warmer. I won't have to wear my gloves to keep my fingers from freezing.
I am thankful for the morning view of the beautiful Kauai sky over the Pacific Ocean - sunrise or no sunrise.

How beautiful! I just made it home from Nevada (almost all flights into Portland were cancelled, too). So glad you made it to Kauai for your holiday!
