Today in the word-a-day I subscribe to, Anu Garg had this quote: "Words are also actions, and actions are a kind of words." Emerson. I'm not sure what word brings me peace; but I am sure I want to think about what I want my actions to be. I make my living by words and I can be acerbic, not always appreciated. I need to remember words are also actions.
Pati, your blog has become a special part of my daily routine! The one word that always brings me peace is 'Jesus'. I times of stress I can just say it over and over and his holy name alone can bring me such peace and comfort.
Saying Psalm 46:10a several times to myself when in stress, dropping one word each time, brings me peace. "Be still and know I am God. Be still and know I am. Be still and know I. Be still and know. Be still and Be."
"Breathe" This word reminds me to stop, close my eyes, take a deep breath, and focus on that quiet place inside, where God resides, that brings peace to my life.
Experience peace in times of chaos. Learn and study about peace. Share the peace with others. Work for peace in our family, our community and our world.
Child of God, wife of Al, Mother of three: Ali, John and Jessica, Daughter of Cathy & Tommy, Grandmother of two grandsons: Simon and Henry, and three granddaughters: Lucia, Anna, Gabrielle and Olive.
"To laugh often and much,
to win the respect of intelligent people
and the affection of chldren;
to earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others;
to leave the world a bit better,
whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch
or a redeemed social condition;
to know even one life has breathed easier
because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

There are a few words for me.
God.
Unconditional.
Service.
Compassion.
Love.
The word is "Be"
Saying Psalm 46:10a several times to myself when in stress, dropping one word each time, brings me peace.
"Be still and know I am God.
Be still and know I am.
Be still and know I.
Be still and know.
Be still and
Be."
