"Not merely an absence of noise, Real Silence begins when a reasonable being withdraws from the noise in order to find peace and order in his inner sanctuary."
I've been enjoying your blog. What a nice way to bring your word to life. I'm a fan of Ali too - I love the idea of a word for the year. Mine is "be." I love it. I was wondering if you'd considered adding a "What I'm Reading" list to your blog. I'm an avid reader and I really enjoy seeing what others are reading right now.
Experience peace in times of chaos. Learn and study about peace. Share the peace with others. Work for peace in our family, our community and our world.
Child of God, wife of Al, Mother of three: Ali, John and Jessica, Daughter of Cathy & Tommy, Grandmother of two grandsons: Simon and Henry, and three granddaughters: Lucia, Anna, Gabrielle and Olive.
"To laugh often and much,
to win the respect of intelligent people
and the affection of chldren;
to earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others;
to leave the world a bit better,
whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch
or a redeemed social condition;
to know even one life has breathed easier
because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded."

what a beautiful quote today - on a day when I am so in need of making space for silence - thanks
My word this year is blessed. I get peace when I am getting the house back in order after a busy morning!
For me, this is the biggest struggle. Thanks so much for this quote that articulates it so well!
Very nice quote!
