Fortune Cookie message - 10/17/07

I am thankful that Al was with me to take my Mom on various errunds yesterday. She needs to be in a wheelchair now, so it is quite a project to take her anywhere. We took her to dinner last night at The Republic restaurant in Portland's Chinatown. Al told us about his memories of eating there when he was 16. This year is The Republic's 85th anniversary. We had a delicious meal with enough take-home for another meal tonight! Fortune Cookies are always fun to read and one of mine (yes, I got two fortunes) was another message to remind me of my "One Word" focus for the year. It has been amazing how many times and ways that peace is brought to my awareness in our daily lives.

Hi Pati - I found your blog thru Ali & Jessica's blog. I live just outside of Portland, but have never eaten at The Republic. We got to the Chinese Gardens a couple of times a year. Next time, we'll make a stop at the Republic thanks to your post. I hope you have a good weekend and fun time taking care of Henry! ~ Kathy C.
