"International Day of Non-Violence"

"When I despair,
I remember that all through history
the way of truth and love has always won.
There have been tyrants and murderers
and for a time they seem invincible,
but in the end, they always fail -
think of it, always."

Mahatma Gandhi

Tonight Al and I watched the video, Gandhi, staring Ben Kingsley. We just happened to borrow the movie from the local library yesterday. Al was looking for more information about Gandhi online and discovered that today is "International Day of Non-Violence," in honor of Mahatma Gandhi's birthday, October 2, 1869. On June 15, 2007, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution declaring October 2, as "International Day of Non-Violence."

There are many links on Google for more information about "International Day of Non-Violence."
