Breathing exercise to promote Peace...

Be Well Toolbox

"When you feel tired or achy,
try this deep-breathing exercise
to promote peace and relaxation:
Rest your hands across your belly.
Breathe in through your nose slowly,
allowing your belly to be filled with this breath.
Slowly exhale.
Repeat several times throughout the day."

James Rouse, ND
Delicious Living Magazine May 2003 - pg. 70

I am thankful for learning this breathing technique quite a few years ago. It has helped me relax and feel more peace in many situations. With the holidays fast approaching sometimes responsibilites and stresses can become overwhelming. I plan to use this breathing technique to help work through the chaos that can sometimes occur.

Adding a picture in your mind of something beautiful and calming can also help to "promote peace and relaxation." This photo of a waterfall on the Rogue River gives me a feeling of peace. The memory even includes the sounds of the waterfall.

I love the idea of a "be well toolbox" that's great!
