Peace or war is not always our option.
"Let us recollect that peace or war
will not always be left to our option;
that however moderate or unambitious we may be,
we cannot count upon the moderation,
or hope to extinguish the ambition of others."
-- Alexander Hamilton (Federalist No. 34, 4 January 1788
The crabs we catch don't have the option of being freed when they are caught, no matter how much they fight to be released from their captivity. There are humans with the ambition to catch the crabs for their delicious meat. In the case of war and peace, there are humans with the ambition of controlling other people and other countries. Unfortunately our country has been forced to fight against terrorists, who do not appreciate the freedoms of the United States, and they are willing to fight and die to destroy our way of life. I am thankful that there are people in our country who are willing to fight for our freedoms and way of life. I am sorry and sad that war continues to exist in our world. I will continue to pray that all humans will find a way to live in peace with all nations.
