Peace in the present moment.
"There are so many things that are enjoyable,
but when we don't practice mindfulness,
we don't appreciate them.
When we practice mindfulness,
we come to cherish these things
and we learn how to protect them.
By taking good care of the present moment,
we take good care of the future.
Working for peace in the future is
to work for peace in the present moment."
Thich Nhat Hanh
"Peace is Every Step" pg. 38
I am thankful for the enjoyable times that Al and I have had spending time with our grandson Simon. Even on a cold, dark and stormy day in February, we can cherish the times of togetherness. We are looking forward to sharing these special times with our second grandson Henry. I want to practice mindfulness that helps me "cherish" the special moments with all of our family. We are looking forward to Thanksgiving holiday week and lots of family members filling our home.
I love the concept of "Working for peace in the future is to work for peace in the present moment."

This is a great post and wonderful to remember when I teaching my son about being gentle and savoring the moment. I love it!
Thanks for the awesome share (as always)!
PS: The photo is so cool, too -- so much joy captured by it!
