You can just imagine that Max Ehrmann probably didn't drive Interstate 5 in the Pacific Northwest. This photo shows the traffic jams that happen, going south near Federal Way and Tacoma, around 4:00 in the afternoon. Fortunately we were going North this afternoon. I am thankful that Al is usually the one driving in our family. It's easier for me to "go placidly amid the noise and haste" of traffic when I don't have to do the driving.
