FOR PEACE - FOR LIFE - FORGIVE

International Forgiveness Day - August 3, 2008

"International Forgiveness Day has been celebrated the first Sunday in August since 1996. The focus of the International Forgiveness Day celebration is to honor those identified as Heros and Champions of Forgiveness, Nonviolence and Peace."

International Forgiveness Day

I am thankful for the beauty of this miniature rose that continues to bloom year after year. I was able to take this photo in the early morning sunshine "when the dew is still on the roses." As we celebrate International Forgiveness Day today, the dew on this rose reminds me of the tears of sorrow and sadness that can be overcome by forgiveness. We can choose to forgive and see the beauty of life even when we experience the emotions of sorrow and sadness.
