I am thankful for a "sacred space" in our Seattle area home. The gas fireplace is so wonderful for early morning, what I call RPM time, reading, praying and meditating. As you can see by the photo of my sacred space, I am a Christian. Included in my sacred area is a framed cross-stitich prayer of thank you to God for our three children: Ali, John and Jessica. (created in 1985) The other creative element is the wall hanging of crosses and Christian pins that I stitched to an heirloom doily from my Mother's family. I pray that the peace from this sacred space may permeate the rest of our house.

I love the glow that the light & fire cast off into the room, looks very inviting and comforting. Your blog brings me much peace in my crazy-busy day. My mom always used to tell my brother and me to "be still" when we were kids. I never understood that, and she said I would when I was older. Well, now I'm older and I understand and value the time I get to "be still". Taking the time to read your blog helps me "be still". Thanks Pati!
